Deja Vu was the first album that Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young made together after Neil Young joined the group. Deja Vu was recorded by Atlantic Records and was instant success. The group each added their writing talents to the album with hits like, "Teach your children" and "Our house" along with "Carry on" and the song "Woodstock" that was written by their good friend Joni Mitchell. Each band member recorded the album in separate recording sessions and each contributed their individual talents to the album.
Their famous recording achievement, Deja Vu is responsible for three top 40 hit songs with "Teach your children", "Our house" and "Woodstock" and in 2003 the television network VH1 named Deja Vu the 61st greatest album of all time. Along with the professional talents of David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young, the Deja Vu album also enjoyed the great accomplishments of Greg Reeves playing the bass guitar and Dallas Taylor playing the drums and percussion. Also making this album a big hit on the billboard charts was the additional music talents of the great Jerry Garcia on pedal guitar and John Sebastian on harmonica.
Deja Vu was a big success around the world in 1970 and was ranked number one in Australia. Deja Vu also made it to number 5 on the charts in the United Kingdom. The Album was ranked number 148 on Rolling Stones magazine list of the 500 best albums of all time in 2003. The group Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young went on to record the song "Ohio" in 1970 after the Kent State University shootings and enjoyed further success with that remarkable recording also.
