Led Zeppelin II MFSL CD is One of the Greatest Albums of all Time

Led Zeppelin is considered one of the greatest rock bands in history. More than 30 years have passed since they disbanded, yet their music is is regarded worldwide as having influenced thousands of musicians. The group was originally formed in 1968. Lez Zeppelin consisted of Paul Jones (bassist, and keyboard), Jimmy Page (guitar), John Bohnam (drums), and Robert Plant (lead vocals, and harmonica). Re-released on the MFSL CD platform the digital master recording gives the ultimate in listening experience.

Of the 9 original studio albums Led Zeppelin released, Led Zeppelin II (the band's second studio album) is considered one of the most influential rock albums ever recorded. Most of The album was recorded while the band was touring throughout North America and Europe in support of their first album "Led Zeppelin". The writing, and mixing of "Thank you" , "Moby Dick" , "Whole Lotta Love", and "Heartbreaker" were all mixed, recorded, and overdubbed between Vancouver, New York, and London.

Though mixed with elements of folk and blues, Led Zeppelin II is also one of the bands heaviest albums. Many reason for this is because during live shows (in which the band was know to improvise onstage without warning), Jimmy Page was creating intense and heavy riffs. Right after the show, the band would run into the studio while the sound of Jimmy's riffers were still fresh in their minds and record it for Led Zeppelin II.

Led Zeppelin also experimented with a variety of sounds from Jimmy Page's acoustic guitar ("Ramble On", "What Should Never Be"), to the backwards echo sound in "Whole Lotta Love", to John Bonham's long drum solo in "Moby Dick".

Led Zeppelin II was release on October 22, 1969 on the Atlantic Records label. It was the first of Lez Zeppelin's 6 albums that would hit #1 on the US charts. Led Zeppelin II remained #1 for 7 weeks. A great indication of the greatness of this album is the fact that it not only remained popular, but continued to sell over the next three decades. On November 10th, 1969, Led Zeppelin II went gold (500,000 sales). It was certified 5x platinum (5,000,000 sales) in 1990. On November 14th 1999, Led Zeppelin II was certified 12x platinum (12,000,000 sales). In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Led Zeppelin II, #75 in the list of 500 greatest albums of all time. Led Zeppelin may be disbanded, but their musical influence is a legacy that stands forever.
