A terrific album from a great recording artist

The voice of Steve Winwood has been called one of the most soulful voices of the century. The Back in the High Life MFSL CD is the classic hit from the artist in the mid 1980's. Both Higher Love and Back in the High Life were monster hits from Winwood. The awesome introduction from Back in the High Life Again reminds all of us that opportunites are around every corner and we should keep our eyes open for opportunity.

Steve Winwood has his early roots in soulful rock-n-roll singing starting his career originally with the Spencer Davis group at the ripe age of 15 years old and later as the lead singer of Traffic. Until the releae of this album, Winwood's most famous recordings were with Traffic including Low Spark of High Heal Boys. Imagine an artist talented enough to release the song, "Gimmie Some Lovin" before the age of 18 and still having the longevity to last some 50 years in teh business. In 1965 Steve Winwood released his first LP with the Spencer Davis group and now some 45 years later his is still a great singer touring with another legend, Eric Clapton on his latest tour.

The Back in the High Life Again LP/CD is perhaps Winwood's most famous recording. Higher Love spent several weeks at the top of the UK bilboard charts and Back in the High Life Again spent over 13 weeks on the charts as well. This recording is one of the better Ultradisks on the Mobile Fidelity platform. The gold ultra disk is perfectly suited to hear the vocal range of Steve Winwood. The amazing Steve Winwood will always be remembered for his powerful voice and blues riffs that are some of the best songs in rock and roll history.
